Professional Bodies 

The vision of Professional Society is to develop student’s academic, professional and personality development skills through various programs, activities arranged by the association. To monitor and control effective conduct of such program ensuring regular attendance, active participation and involvement of students.

Objectives 

  • Improving standard of Engineering Education and counseling the students in the emerging new opportunities
  • Encouraging and motivating the outside Class room studies /Workshops/ projects/ Seminars
  • To plan, organize Technical Programs, Special Lectures, Workshops, Seminars Symposia, exhibitions for the benefit of students.
  • To provide common platform for students to exchange of ideas in technical topics of interest and to facilitate technical visits, project works, employment, contact with industries and academic institutions.
  • Encourage team spirit and self-reliance among student members

    Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of the computer professionals in India. It was started on 6th March 1965 by few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. The vision of the CSI is “It is a non-profit national society and meets to exchange views and information learns and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of computer engineering and technology systems, science and engineering, information processing and related arts and sciences”.

    CIT- IEEE student branch was started in the year 2009 under the leadership of Dr D S Suresh, Principal, CIT-Gubbi.The Chapter was inaugurated by Dr T Srinivas, Professor, Department of ECE, IISc, Bangalore on 17th April 2009.Initially there were 22 student members along with Dr D S Suresh as the head of student council.

    SAEINDIA is an affiliate society of SAE International, registered as an Indian nonprofit engineering and scientific society dedicated to the advancement of mobility community in India. As an individual member driven society of mobility practitioners, SAEINDIA comprises members who are individuals from the mobility community, which includes engineers, executives from industry, government officials, academics and students.

    SAEINDIA organizes international meetings and exhibitions each year that cover all aspects of technology related to design, manufacture, and total life cycle technology for the automotive, aerospace, off highway, truck and bus, fuels and lubricants, and other related mobility industries.     The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is the largest multi-disciplinary professional body of engineers, established in 1920 with its Headquarters located in Kolkata and incorporated under Royal Charter on 9th September, 1935 by the then His Majesty of King George V. The Royal Charter endowed the Institution with the responsibility to promote the general advancement of engineering amongst its members and persons attached to the Institution. After Independence, the Institution is a “Body Corporate” protected under Article 372 of the Constitution of India. The Institution of Engineers (India) is administered by a National Council with the President as its Head.

    The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India’s leading recognised professional society devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953. The IETE is the National Apex Professional body of Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science and IT Professionals. It serves more than 1,25,000 members (including Corporate, Student and ISF members) through various 63 Centres, spread all over India and abroad. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific and Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.

     Computer Society of India (CSI)

    Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of the computer professionals in India. It was started on 6th March 1965 by few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals. The vision of the CSI is “It is a non-profit national society and meets to exchange views and information learns and share ideas. The wide spectrum of members is committed to the advancement of theory and practice of computer engineering and technology systems, science and engineering, information processing and related arts and sciences”.

    • Our esteemed institution got CSI Institutional Membership on 20th October 2009 valid till 31st March 2012 with three nominee faculty members for CSI life membership.
    • CIT-CSI Student Branch was inaugurated Prof. Shantharam Nayak.
    • CIT-CSI Student Branch started with 75 student membership.
    • Renewed on 29th October 2010 & valid till 31st March 2016.
    • Conducted one day seminar on “Computer Graphics and Visualization with open GL” on 25th April 2011 at CIT.
    • 84 students registered for CSI Student Branch on August 2015.
    • Seven students attended Two days hands-on workshop on “FPGA Based Embedded System Design” held at CSI Education directorate, Chennai during 18th & 19th Sep 2015.
    • Five students and one faculty attended “10th National Conference on IT in Defence-2016 (Trusted Computing in Defence)” on 12th & 13th Feb 2016.
    • Conducted one day Guest Lecture on “IOS with Swift” in CIT on March 2016 by Nithin Rajashekar, Software Engineer, Broadsoft
    • One student and faculty of CSE dept attended one day workshop on ”Parallel Computing with GPU” conducted by GPU centre of Excellence(GCOE), IIT Bombay  at  RVCE, Bengaluru on 19th March 2016.
    • Renewed on 1st April 2016 and valid till 31st March 2021
    • Two students attended three days competition “National Android Development Championship” at IIT Bombay on 1st to 3rd April 2016.
    • Two faculties of CSE Dept attended Seminar on “Career opportunities in Audio Visual Industry” held at CSI-BC premises on 7th May 2016.
    • Conducted two days FDP on “Wireless Sensor Networks and Applications” at CIT during 22nd & 23rd July 2016.
    • Conducted one day workshop on “Natural Language Processing with Python” at CIT on 27th October 2016 by Dr. B M Sagar , Associate Professor, RVCE, Bengaluru.
    • Conducted two days workshop on “R-Language” at CIT during 3rd & 4th March, 2017 by Mr.Ramprasad A R , Software Engineer, PaNa infotech Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru & Mr. Karthik C M, Software Engineer, Collabera Technologies Pvt, Ltd, Bengaluru.

    Society of Automotive Engineers India (SAE )

    SAE team Participation TEAM GOLDEN EAGLE

    SAE team by name TEAM GOLDEN EAGLE, Dept of Mech. Engg., CIT., Gubbi comprising of 15 students and one staff took part in event called SAE BAJA. This was held at Peethampur, Madhyapradesh from 5th April 2022 to 12th April 2022. On 6th April-22 (Wednesday), the 15th edition of the BAJA SAEINDIA series by the Society of Automotive Engineers was inaugurated. Physically Eighty teams took part in the event out of 260 teams registered through virtual.   On a day prior to the event started (i.e. day -1), BAJA aptitude test was conducted at Acropolis Institute of Technology, Indore for all the participants of final year students i.e. almost around 650+ students across all the states of India.    From our team golden eagle 12 final year students attended the BAJA Aptitude test out of which 9 students cleared the same. All 9 students are eligible for attending HR round of companies like Mahendra and Mahendra Ltd, PRAVAIG Dynamics located at Bangalore, VARROC at Mumbai, Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and etc.  6 from 9 students got offer letter from Mahendra and Mahendra Ltd for R and D division posted at Chennai with a starting package of 6.5Lakhs per annum. PRAVAIG and VARROC completed the selection process and waiting for the result.  Our Vehicle cleared the weight, engine test and technical inspections.

    18th ISTE Karnataka section Student Convention

    • 18th ISTE Karnataka State Student Convention 2023, is Organized at Vemana Institute of Technology – Koramangala, Bengaluru, Dated 06.05.2023. The Theme of the convention is “Innovative Technologies for Sustainable Future.”
    • Total students Participated in the convention: 24
    C.I.T Students bagged the awards in various events:
    • Ms. Gagana AN (1CG21CS037), Ms. Himaja S(1C21CS048) and Ms. Ananya Jain G(1CG21CS007), Ms.Yashaswini C(1CG21CS121),  secured  2nd place in Debate during the
