Research Centre – Department of Electronics  & Communication  Engineering

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) Research Centre at Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology (CIT) Gubbi is a dynamic hub of academic and technological innovation. Within this research centre, dedicated faculty members and researchers collaborate on a wide array of projects spanning the diverse realms of electronics and communication Engineering.

Their research areas encompass cutting-edge technologies such as Digital Signal Processing, Industrial Automation, Biomedical Instrumentation, Embedded System Design, VLSI design, signal processing, and power electronics among others. Through their rigorous research endeavours, the ECE Research Centre at CIT Gubbi contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge and technology in these domains.

Moreover, the centre actively promotes student involvement in research activities, providing valuable opportunities for learning and skill development. With a commitment to excellence and a focus on addressing contemporary challenges, this research centre plays a crucial role in fostering innovation and academic growth within the field of electronics and communication engineering at CIT Gubbi.

      Through this research centre, to create an innovative learning in the field of Digital Signal Processing, the proposal named “DSP Contextual Lab” was submitted by the Programme Coordinator Dr. Suresh D S, Professor and Head, Dept. of ECE and got sanctioned by Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka, under the scheme of CISEE in the year of 2013-14. The Total Grant amount sanctioned Rs. 30,00,000/= (Rupees Thirty Lakhs). The mentioned project duration is 03-years.

       

      In addition, to create a centre of excellence in the field of Embedded system design and Industrial Automation, another proposal submitted by Dr. Suresh D S, Head, ECE & Mr. R Sekar, Assoc. Professor, Dept. of ECE and approved by Vision Group on Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, under the scheme of K-FIST Level-1. The Total Grant amount sanctioned for this project is Rs. 20, 00, 000/= (Rupees Twenty Lakhs).

      • The ECG, EEG based Bio-medical signal acquisition and processing is in pipeline
      • With the advanced audio and video signal processing kits the real-time signal analysis done using the software is an another ongoing project.
