NDLI CLUB LAUNCH
The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) –Club was launched at Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Gubbi on 14th September 2019.
Dr. M M Bachalapur, Chief Librarian at BLDEA’s V P Dr. P G Halakatti college of engineering and Technology, Vijayapur was invited as Chief Guest for the inaugural function. The function was presided by Dr. Suresh D S, Director& Principal, CIT, Gubbi.
Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Gubbi is a registered member of NDLI club- a project under Ministry of Human Resource Development, which is managed by Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.The project is initiated with an objective of collecting digital contents form several National and International digital libraries and it provides metadata of those contents.NDLI is a digital repository containing Textbooks, articles, videos, audio books, lectures, simulations, fiction and a host of other kinds of learning resources.NDLI provide free of cost access to many books in English and the other Indian languages.
Dr. M M Bachalapur briefed the importance of networked libraries and the functioning of NDLI. The user awareness program was followed by a expert talk on “ Plagiarism in Research and Publication”.
Dr. Suresh D S in his presidential address pointed out the changes and improvements that have taken place in the functioning of libraries from early 1980’s to till date. He also spoke about how technology has joined hands with library in providing valuable and authentic information to the users of the library.
In the Inaugural function, Prof. Pradeep V, Dean (Academics) & Convener, NDLI Club, CIT, Gubbi, Ms. Nagarathna T S Librarian, Heads of various departments of CIT, staff members and students of CIT were present in the function.

Quiz on Industry 4.0 and Climate Change
The Quiz was conducted on 5th October 2019 at Auditorium, CRC Block. This program was presided by a expert talk on “Climate Change” by Dr. Pradeep C R , Professor, Dept.of Mathematics. There are 10 teams were participated in the quiz. The quiz was conducted in three rounds and finally three teams have won the First, Second and Third Place.

Gaming Contest
Gaming contest was conducted on 30th October 2019 at Uttara Lab.
Workshopon “Database Application Development using PHP”
A workshop on Database Application Development using PHP was conducted by NDLI Club on 18th Nov 2019. A total of 82 students i.e. 37 students from CSE and 45 Students from ISE participated in the workshop. The session was conducted at the ICL lab. The Workshop was opened by the Associate Professor and Coordinator of the CSE department Mr. Anil Kumar G, who given the keynote address to the participants and remarked the importance of webpage and website. In workshop essential elements of HTML and PHP were discussed and the importance of design and developing project was also highlighted. Students’ participation was wholehearted.
Webinar on “Mendeley Reference Management Tool”
The NDLI Club has organized the Webinar on “Mendeley Reference Management Tool” on 25th November 2019 for the benefits of faculty members of all Departments. The webinar was focused on:-
- Automatically generate bibliography
- Collaborate easily with other researchers online
- Access the papers from anywhere and read papers on ios and android applications
Debate on “Integrity – A Way of Life”
The Debate was conducted at 14th December 2019 at Auditorium.
