WHAT IS CIT-CAT?
CIT-CAT is a competitive Admission Test conducted by Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Gubbi since 2008 through which engineering seats (one in each of the 6 UG programs @ CIT) is offered fully FREE.
Why CIT-CAT?
Many highly meritorious B.E aspirants do not pursue their undergraduate program due to their poor economic condition and as such they would compromise with their career. CRED Society, which is known for its benevolence, permitted CIT, Gubbi to offer few free seats through well designed & transparent selection process. This led to commencement of CIT-CAT in the year 2008.
ELIGIBILITY TO PARTICIPATE IN CIT-CAT
Students who have passed PUC II with minimum of 60% aggregate in PCM (50% in case of students who have excelled in sports or physically challenged).

CIT-CAT PROCESS
Every year 2-3 months before commencement of academic year, an advertisement about CIT-CAT is published in local / & leading news papers. Through these advertisements and other promotional efforts, registrations for CIT-CAT are done. On the scheduled date, the process begins with computer based test. Based on results of this test along with aggregate PUC %, candidates are shortlisted for Group Discussions. Further, students who clear GD will participate in personal interview. Background check of all candidates shortlisted in interview is carried out by a team of CIT faculty. Based on the report of background check, students are offered free seats.
