Induction Program for First Year Students
Education plays a vital role in a Country’s progress. The conventional pattern of attending the classes passively and focusing on just good grades in the examinations is treated as an obsolete exercise in today’s world. It is said that all human beings are endowed with unique talents and traits. The role of a teacher is to facilitate students to achieve their goals by nurturing the talents and traits already in them. It is believed that the inherent talent and core competency should come together to make education meaningful, holistic, productive and fulfilling. Perhaps the aim of an engineering college is not just to make competent engineers, in addition to it to groom knowledgeable and well cultured men and women, fit to radiate the fragrance of their learning among people around them. In this direction, as per the guidelines of Visvesvaraya Technological University and AICTE, mandatory 3 weeks Induction program is being conducted for first year students.

Induction Program (2018-19)
For the students admitted to the various branches of engineering during the academic year 2018-19, the mandatory 3 Weeks Induction Program was conducted from 13th August to 15th September, 2018. The program was coordinated by the Department of Placement and Training, CIT, Gubbi. External eminent personalities such as Dr. BS Seshadri, former Scientist at IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Mrs. Anu Krishna, Founder-Word Weave ; NLP Master Practitioner; Pranic Psychotherapist; Karnataka Chairperson for Coaching (ALL), Bangalore, Mr. Partha Iyengar, Founder-Life and Money, Mumbai, Mr. Vasudev Achar, Food and Health Expert, Tumkur and Mr. GVB Shastry, Yoga Vidwan attended the program.
Induction Program (2019-20)
The first phase of the Induction Program was conducted for 11 days in the beginning of the first semester from 5th to 19th August, 2019 and the second phase of the induction program was conducted for 10 days from 10th to 19th February, 2020 during the commencement of second semester. Department of Basic Science coordinated the program.
Eminent personalities like Dr. Bhavesh Bhatia, a blind entrepreneur, sportsman, tracker, poet and shayar, who hails from Mahabaleshwar, Maharashtra and recipient of prestigious President’s Award for Best Blind Employer, His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Veereshananda Saraswathi, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashrama, Tumakuru, Dr. BS Seshadri, Retired Scientist from prestigious, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research (IGCAR), Kalpakkam, Revered Sanskrit scholar Dr. TN Prabhakar, Mr. Adnan Wajid, Senior Admin and HR Manager, Cummins India Ltd., Bengaluru, Justice Smt.Fairoza H Ukkali, JMFC, Gubbi and Mr. Hidayath Khaleel, Excise Inspector, Excise Intelligence Bureau, Indiranagar, Bengaluru gave lectures during the Induction Program.
