Academic Lecture Series

1. Lecture Series on Database Management System: Entity Relationship

Dr. Suhas K C, Asst. Prof, Dept. of CSE

21st June 2024 | 11 AM – 12 PM

40 Students

An Entity – Relationship (ER) model is a conceptual framework used in database design to represent and describe data structures and their relationships. The ER model is primarily used for designing and visualizing database schemas. Fundamentally, the ER Diagram is a structural design of the database. It acts as a framework created with specialized symbols for the purpose of defining the relationship between the database entities. The session was highly informative, focusing on the three principal components: entities, attributes, and relationships.
Fluid Mechanics & Hydraulics

Guest Lecture: Velocity Triangles in Fluid Flow

Mr. Thejesh T N, Asst. Prof, Dept. of Civil Engineering

8th July 2024 | 4th Semester Students

60 Students Participated

This lecture bridge the syllabus gap regarding Turbo Machinery, focusing on velocity triangles as a graphical tool to analyze fluid components across pump, turbine, and compressor stages.

Performance Prediction Assists in determining efficiency, power output, and pressure changes within machines.
Blade & Energy Analysis Aids in optimizing blade angles for maximum energy transfer and fluid flow efficiency.
Structural Framework Classifies impulse and reaction machines based on absolute and relative velocity changes.
