NDLI Club Launch
The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club was launched at Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology, Gubbi on 14th September 2019.
Dr. M. M. Bachalapur, Chief Librarian at BLDEA's V. P. Dr. P. G. Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology, Vijayapur, was invited as the Chief Guest. The function was presided over by Dr. Suresh D. S., Director & Principal, CIT, Gubbi.
The institution is a registered member of the NDLI Club, a project under the Ministry of Education, managed by the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. NDLI acts as a digital repository offering textbooks, articles, videos, audiobooks, lectures, and various learning resources freely in multiple languages.
Dr. M. M. Bachalapur highlighted the importance of networked libraries and explained NDLI's functioning. The awareness session was followed by an expert talk on "Plagiarism in Research and Publication."
In his presidential address, Dr. Suresh D. S. emphasized the transformation of libraries from the 1980s to today, highlighting the role of technology in delivering reliable and authentic information to users.
The event was attended by Prof. Pradeep V., Dean (Academics) & Convener, NDLI Club, Ms. Nagarathna T. S., Librarian, along with department heads, staff, and students of CIT, Gubbi.
