EXTERNAL LINKAGES
 Linkage with Industry
CIT has been maintaining strong and consistent interaction with many Industries, especially IT related. CIT cordially welcome the industries to come forward and build a strong bond with CIT to garner mutual benefits and contribute towards building of a strong technological Institution. Following are few collaborations of CIT with industries:

1) Academic Alliance Programs
a) CISCO Networking Academy Programme: CIT is association with CISCO prepares students for CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and CISCO Certified Network Professional (CCNP) diplomas.
b) EMC2 Academic Alliance Program: CIT in collaboration with EMC2 Corporation offers “Storage Technologist Certification” for students. C.I.T has deputed many faculty members for various 'Train the Trainer' programs on “Storage Technology” organized by EMC2. Every year CIT is planning to roll out a good number of certified Storage Technologist from its Academy.
c) Infosys Campus-Connect Program: The Campus Connect initiative aims to enhance the educational level of engineering students, nationwide and thus increase the employability of these engineers. As a part of this initiative Infosys shares with partner colleges its proven courseware, methodology and education experiences. C.I.T being one of the partnered colleges has chalked out an ambitious plan for offering various programs under Campus Connect to its students

2) Consultancy
It is immense pride to CIT that Prof. Suresh Kumar D. S. & Prof. Shantala Suresh are actively involved as technical consultants with the following companies.
• Future Techno Designs Pvt. Ltd. (Singapore)
• Socrates Software India Pvt. Ltd.
• Toshiba Semiconductors Pvt. Ltd., Japan
• Creative Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (Creative Labs, Singapore)
• Universal Instruments.
As resource person Prof. Suresh Kumar D. S has trained engineers for the WASE program at WIPRO, Bangalore.
 Linkage with other technical institutes
The initiatives for building the relations with all the Technical Institutions located in the surrounding areas of CIT campus were started in the year 2005. These were started through the issues connected with Placement & Training. Given below are important initiatives in this direction.
IAPT: As an outcome of the National Workshop for the TPOs (Training & Placement Officers) , the All India Association for the TPOs (IAPT) has been registered and started with headquarters at CIT Campus
ACCESS – An association of Engineering Colleges for promoting jointly all the activities related to placements & training has also been registered & started with HQRS at CIT Campus. This association has been named as ACCESS
Now this linkage is extended to many other academic & research activities.
 Linkage with Government Organizations
Social audit of GTTC: CIT was engaged as the lead consultant for Govt. Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC) for conducting Social Audit and Concurrent Evaluation of schemes at 18 Centres across Karnataka. After completing the audit, CIT has suggested few modifications / amendments which were happily welcomed by GTTC.
CIT-VTP Centre: Ministry of labour and employment in pursuance of excellence in vocational training has developed Skill Development initiative (SDI) scheme based on Modular Employable Skills (MES) framework in close consultation with industry, state governments and experts.
SDI scheme is a five year project during which one million persons would be trained for their existing skills, tested and certified under Modular Employable Skills (MES) framework.
Under this scheme, NCVT has recognized CIT as Vocational Training Provider (VIP) under Skill Development Initiative scheme based on MES. We are very proud to say that CIT – VTP centre is the first VTP centre in the state. Around 1500+ candidates have been already trained in various skill domains from CIT VTP centre.
 Linkage with Professional Bodies
The chapters of reputed professional bodies like ISTE, IEEE & CSI are functioning in CIT campus. By these students will have opportunity of purposeful interaction with other members across India and also other countries.
