RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

Research and development activities form an integral component of CIT towards achieving excellence in imparting high quality technical education. Since the inception of the Institute, faculty and students have strived hard to promote the research culture.

Innumerable R&D and consultancy projects have been successfully completed by faculty members. The role of industry in the field of technical education is felt to be indispensable. In order to provide a thrust to this, CIT has developed the Industry Institute -Partnership Cell, (I PC).

CITRIS - RESEARCH WING of CIT

     CIT started its R&D wing named “CITRIS” in the year 2006 to take up various research works for social upliftment. Since inception this wing is very active both in terms of research and development. Some of the achievement of this wing are given below:

  • CITRIS is the authorised Design House of Cyprus Semi Conductor and Renesas.
  • Industry Competence Lab: ICL has been established in collaboration with many leading MNC’s for imparting technical skills as per the industry requirements.
  • One of the research papers developed in CITRIS was selected in “MANTHAN 2009” - a paper presentation competition organized by FKCCI, Bangalore and bagged  second runners up trophy and a cash prize of Rs.20,000/-. Former President of India Dr.A.P.J Abdul Kalam and M.D & Chairperson of Biocon Kiran Mazumdar Shaw gave away the prizes.
  • CITRIS is the recognized research centre of Tumkur University for pursuing PhD in the areas for Computer Science, Electronics and Management.
