Examination & Internal Assessment

Three internal tests in each subject will be conducted before the final university examination. The aggregate marks of the best of two internal tests will be added with the marks obtained in the university examination before announcing the results.

The university examinations are held at the end of each semester and hence there will be two examinations in a calendar year. A candidate has to appear in both the examinations in the year and only successful candidates are promoted to the next higher class, i.e. II year or III year or IV year as the case may be. The candidate will get the benefit of carryover of 4 subjects only in a year for the promotion to the next higher year as per the norms of the university. The examinations are held both for theory and laboratories as per university curriculum. The results are declared by the university after the examination, at the end of each semester.

A committee comprising of students from various departments takes care of communicating common student issues/problems to the Principal. The committee with the help and advice from faculty senate is also responsible for conducting technical, social and cultural events for the students.

Activity Center

CIT is highly student centric institute. CIT offers excellent opportunities, covering a very wide range, to its students to participate in recreational and creative activities through its Students’ Activity Centre (SAC). SAC intends to serve as the nerve centre of all student activities in the campus. It aims to foster a well-balanced development of its members through excellence in extra-curricular activities along with their academic achievements.

Student Forums like Creative Club, Maths Club, Hobby Project Club, CIT Rock Band and Music Club are part of student activity centre.

Hobby Project Club

It may be possible to fly without machines, but not without knowledge and skill – Wilbur Wright, Developer of the world's first successful airplane

The More we give importance to skill development, the more competent will be our Youth – Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister

In line with the quotes mentioned, Channabasaveshwara Institute of Technology taken initiative to train the necessary skills for the student community through conducting skill development courses in parallel with their curriculum.

The university curriculum merely supports the technical and engineering knowledge to the students. The theoretical knowledge may not help in resolving the real world problems. To prepare the students to face the technical issues, a platform must be provided to explore and become expertise on their interested domains.

The Institute regularly organizes the technical event under the banner of KNEW – Knowledge Network Workshop, where the students can exhibit their innovative ideas as in the form of hobby projects.

All the departments equally supports and encourage the students to participate in hobby project event, so that an inter discipline projects will come up. The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering established a Student driven Club named as “IDEAS Club”. It’s completely driven by the students of the branch, where students actively participate in technical discussion and hobby project implementation etc. Through which, the students conceive their innovative ideas and the same has been transformed as a project model. The glimpses of the hobby projects exhibitions are presented below:
